New York Times Magazine Photography Contest
The editors of The New York Times Magazine invite all undergraduate and graduate university students to submit original photo essays or portfolios for the 2005 New York Times Magazine Photography Contest. The goal of the competition will be to feature the very best photojournalism and art photography being created today by students of photography who are the potential stars of the next generation.
One winner will be chosen and their work will be published in the September 11, 2005 issue of the magazine. In addition, the winner will receive $1,000. Two runners-up will also be selected, and their work will be featured on www.nytimes.com.
Editors are interested in photography that reflects "the way we live now." Eligible entries may be examples of photojournalism, portraiture or art photography.
To be eligible for entry, the work:
-Must have been created within the past year.
-Must not have been previously published.
-Must include at least 10, and not more than 20 photographs. Both color and black-and-white photographs are acceptable.
-Must include captions and dates for all images.
-Must be postmarked or received by 6 p.m. on June 15, 2005.
